HE KING WHO CAME ON PURPOSE

Palm Sunday looks like a celebration—but it’s actually the beginning of restoration.

Jesus is not wandering into Jerusalem.
He is not reacting to pressure.
He is not caught in circumstances.

He is moving with purpose.

Luke 9:51 tells us, “He determined to journey to Jerusalem.”
That word “determined” matters. It means He set His face. He locked in. He made a decision.

Jesus knew:

  • The betrayal was coming
  • The suffering was coming
  • The cross was coming

And He went anyway.

Mark 10:45 reminds us why: “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

This is not a random moment—this is a rescue mission.

Hebrews 12:2 says, “For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross.”

What was the joy?

You.
Your restoration.
Your redemption.

Palm Sunday is the moment Jesus steps into the final phase of restoring what sin broke.

But here’s the truth we don’t always like:

Restoration has a cost.

We love the idea of God fixing things.
We love the idea of healing and change.

But we don’t always want:

  • The surrender
  • The repentance
  • The letting go

Jesus shows us something clearly:

There is no restoration without sacrifice.

He wasn’t caught—He was committed.

And if we’re going to experience restoration, we must follow the same path:

  • Surrender over control
  • Obedience over comfort
  • Trust over understanding

Palm Sunday reminds us:

God is not starting restoration in your life—He has already set it in motion.
